Clore Leadership Programme
[edit] OverviewThe Clore Leadership Programme provides professional training and personal development for current and future leaders in the cultural sector. It was founded by the Clore Duffield Foundation in 2002 in response to its own research into the state of leadership in the cultural sector. [edit] The ProgrammeEach year around 25 Clore Fellows are selected following a rigorous application and selection process. They embark on a 2-year journey which includes core training courses (practical skills, including fundraising, media training, financial planning), personal development, and an extended secondment to an organisation outside of their previous professional experience. In addition each Fellow completes a research project of personal and professional significance. Since 2006 the Programme has also offered short courses to a greater number of participants which capture a lot of the Clore experience in an intensive 2-week residential course. [edit] LeadershipThe founding Director of the Clore Leadership Programme was Chris Smith, who from 1997-2001 had been Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport. In July 2008 he stepped down and was succeeded as Director by Sue Hoyle.
